What is a Schengen visa ? |

A Schengen visa allows its holder to move freely in all the member states of the European Union who signed the Shengen agreement within the validity of the visa.

What are the insurance specifications that the consulates require for issuing the Schengen Visa ? |

- Insurance company must have a representative office in Europe
- Medical evacuation/repatriation coverage of at least US $37,500
- Insurance must be valid for duration of stay in the Schengen states

What are the different types of Schengen visa? |
 |
- Transit visa:
This visa allows you to pass through one or more Schengen member states on your way to a country outside the Schengen space. This visa can be valid for up to 5 days.
Validity: 1 to 5 days
Number of entries authorized: 1 or 2
- Airport transit visa:
This visa allows you to transit through the international zone of a French airport with no access to the Schengen space, before flying on to your final destination.
- Short stay Schengen visa:
This visa allows you to travel freely within the Schengen Space, including France, and spend a maximum of 90 days over 6 months. It is issued for various purposes such as tourism, shopping, business or family visits.
Validity: 1 to 90 days over 6 months
Number of entries authorized: 1 or multiple
- "Circulation" Schengen visa:
This visa allows the holder to travel freely within the Schengen Space, including France, over 1 to 3 years. It can be granted to people who can prove their frequent trips for family or business purposes.
Validity: 1 to 90 days (over 6 months) over 1 to 3 years.
Numbers of entries authorized: multiple
